With summer holidays firmly in our minds as the weather (finally) starts to get warmer minds turn to the beach, what we’ll wear and what we’ll see. The beach, as with most areas of life now, have become something of fashion catwalk, and looking great as well as getting a tan is high on the list for many of you.
So how do you accessorize for the beach without impeding your tan or creating unseemly tan lines? It’s nothing like accessorizing for a night out – bracelets and necklaces can get too hot or leave the dreaded lines if you fall asleep. Sandals or flip flops are a great way to accessorize and show off your style; from wedge slingbacks to leather strapped flip flops there’s something to suit your tastes.
You’ll also want something to keep the sun off your head if you’re spending the day on the beach or by the pool. Why not look at floppy sun hats – think Eva Longoria and Sophia Lauren – or a simple woven Stetson to remain stylish without resorting to dad like fishing hats. To top off the celeb in hiding, major fashionista look pick up some huge sunglasses that can be propped on top of the hat when you’re not wearing them.
If you’re heading out for the day you’ll be requiring a bag, and if you’ve made the mistake of taking your usual handbag to the beach you’ll now that sand manages to get in every pocket and leather sticking to your skin ruins your street cred. There are a variety of beach bag styles available most with rope handles that can be easily turned out to upend the sand. Towels are now a beach accessory too so finding one that expresses your style not only makes it easier to spot but keeps you at the top of the fashion pile.
