Tips for Halloween

Pumpkin_projectionAutumn might be in full swing with a chill creeping in but we don’t mind especially as one of the most fun holidays of the year is back – Halloween.
Aside from fancy dress – and no we don’t mean in the Mean Girls way – there is plenty to do to embrace the scary season.

Ghost Walks / Experiences

Why not take yourself on a scary walk / tour, there are plenty of haunted walks set up for Halloween across the country, however if you want something truly terrifying, visit the Jack the Ripper tour in London or Tulley’s Farm for a full immersive experience complete with Zombies.

Trick or Treating

Accompany the children out for old-fashioned trick or treating. Walking around your local neighbourhood dressed up as your favourite scare is always fun and a way to get the kids involved – though be careful they don’t get too loaded on sugar before bed!

Movie Night

If you’re not really into dressing up but still want to be involved, how about an old school horror movie night – complete with popcorn and Halloween themed snacks. We suggest sticking to the old school classic horror films such as Hocus Pocus, Practical Magic or Beetlejuice; ignore anything that involves a bunch of high school teenagers

Pumpkin Carving

Nothing says Halloween more than a scary carved pumpkin. Get into the supermarkets quick to get a decent sized one. You can find plenty of stencils and inspiration via Pinterest. The plus side is that you can use the left over pumpkin to make a delicious pumpkin soup or cake. We have captured some of our favourite cravings here.
