Last year, Claire France, Manager and Senior Consultant for Temple Spa, educated us in how to build up a good skin care regime  As summer is just around the corner, we thought we’d get Claire’s advice on how to get your body ready and your skin glowing in the safest possible way…

Summer is just around the corner, so here are a few of my favourite Temple Spa products to get your body ready and your skin glowing in the safest possible way…

Keep your skin hydrated

Skin can become dehydrated during the summer months resulting in frown lines, spots, a sluggish complexion and lack of “glow”. Drink water regularly throughout the day to hydrate your skin and flush out toxins that can have an impact on your complexion. Temple Spa’s QUENCH mask will give your skin an instant radiance boost and is packed with natural hydrating ingredients such as olive, avocado, red pepper and Echinacea to bring dull skin back to life.

Give dull, bumpy and rough skin the brush off

The first thing that has to go after being in hibernation during winter is the dried up dead skin! GIVING IT THE BRUSH OFF is a dry body brush which not only removes dull dead skin cells, but also increases circulation to reduce cellulite, remove toxins and improve skin texture leaving skin feeling energised, revived and radiant. Follow with a body exfoliator such as SUGAR BUFF, a Mediterranean inspired sugar scrub with a blend of olive, fig and pomegranate to reveal silky smooth, hydrated skin. For your face try BREAKFAST SMOOTHIE, a gentle facial exfoliator for all skin types with honey, jojoba, olive, papaya, oats and fruit juices to polish away dead skin cells and reveal a naturally bright complexion.

Best foot forward

Your feet have most likely been hidden away during the winter and the thought of baring your soles may make you shudder! Our SOLE BALM has a plethora of Mediterranean botanicals and exfoliating fruit acids to banish cracked heels and hard skin. Plus, the powerful blend of 12 essential oils will help to alleviate tension and tiredness leaving skin silky smooth.

Swap your usual daytime facial moisturiser for an SPF version

Protect yourself from the harmful effects of the sun all year round by choosing a facial moisturiser with SPF. Temple Spa’s SELF DEFENCE is a lightweight SPF30 with a silky texture which absorbs beautifully into the skin without clogging the pores. As well as protecting against harmful UV sunrays, SELF DEFENCE will moisturise the skin, provide anti-inflammatory benefits and is anti-ageing too.

Fake your summer glow

Sunbathing can add a good 20 years onto your age by dehydrating and wrinkling the skin, so why not stay safe and fake it? Temple Spa has a range of bronzing solutions to help you get your glow for summer:

SOL MATE self tan soufflé will give a natural, buildable tan within a few hours with minimal risk of streaking, blotches and uneven tone. It works with your own skin tone to give you a natural tan which lasts up to 7 days then fades softly and evenly, or can be reapplied every other day to keep the tan as long as you want. It is great for the skin too; its hydrating, anti-ageing formula is rich in extracts of olive to condition, cocoa butter to hydrate, grapevine leaf to tone and lemon oil which is rich in vitamins A and C.

LOVLEY DAY bronzing gel is a non-permanent tanning product for the face and body enriched with Vitamin E and Pro-Vitamin B5 to give your skin an instant glow. The sheer, lightweight liquid is easy to apply and can be layered to control the shade. The water-resistant formula will ensure you don’t go spotty if you get caught in the rain and can be removed with a cleanser or body wash.

So with summer on its way, you hopefully now feel equipped to get yourself and your body in tip top condition! For more information about our other natural anti-ageing products, visit  Templespa
