As if growing up isn’t hard enough, we’re graced with the changes in body and emotions, and deciding to wear a bra is the least of our worries.  We’ve all been there, and done that, and here at Panache we understand how hard it can be to choose the right time to start wearing a bra. So what is the right time? The answer is… There isn’t one.

All ladies are different, some blossom younger than others, so really it’s down to you to decide when the right time is to wear a bra, it’s when the bra fits, when you feel ready but it’s also important to note that as soon as they begin to grow its recommended that you wear a bra for support purposes.

There are different types of bras available for teens, from training bras to sports bras all readily available.

Although there isn’t an answer for the right time to wear a bra, we’ve come up with a few tips to help you choose the right time for you.

Time for a training bra

Once breast tissue begins to develop it may be time for a training bra. There are many options available, from crop-top styles through to full training bras and camisoles with in-built support, which will give the support needed throughout this stage of the growing process. Once breast tissue develops further it’s important to move on to a more structured bra which may offer proper sizing and underwire support.

Confidence

There is no right time to begin wearing a bra, it’s based on each individual’s body type, and confidence can be a huge factor in choosing to wear one. If you feel wearing a bra will give you more confidence, then it might be the right time to start thinking about the different options available.

Getting measured

Teenagers tend to have growth spurts, so it’s important to get measured regularly. 80% of women are currently wearing the wrong bra size, and getting measured can prevent any future back problems that wearing the wrong size can bring.
